SOLO

When I'm playing solo I'm mostly doing original music on guitar and banjo, with a smattering of great songs that I've collected over the years.

Some of the early influences were artists like Cat Stevens, Harry Chapin, Jim Croce,  Jessie Winchester.   The first single I ever owned was "polk Salad Annie" by Tony Joe White and the first album I ever bought was Uriah Heap's "Very 'eavy Very 'umble"  ...!!! work that out.

As I developed more acoustic guitar instrumentals, people like Pierre Ben Susan, Tony McManus, and Martin Simpson were often on high rotation.  And old time banjo players like Bob Carlin, Andrew Dunlap, Riley Bagus, and Adam Hurt have helped me with my claw-hammer development.

Having said all of this, my influences are increasingly eclectic (maybe age has got something to do with that) and I don't really spend any time pigeonholing stuff - it either gets in or it doesn't.

So where to from here?

I'm now making spaces to play music as my passion and with a
community focus and I look forward to many years of being part of the music community and sharing with anyone who cares enough to listen.
